Southside Partnership - Supporting people to lead independent lives

Social Enterprises

We have two thriving social enterprises businesses; Scotch Bonnet Catering and Home & Dry decorating .

Our social enterprises offer service user customers the opportunity to train or gain work experience in catering and in painting and decorating.  Trainees have the opportunity to acquire City and Guilds or NVQs through training programs delivered by local colleges as a pathway towards employment. Training courses, delivered in partnership with Lambeth College, include CSKILLS Painting and Decorating Level 1 PT/FT,  CSKILLS Painting and Decorating Level 2 Diploma PT/FT, NVQ Painting and Decorating PT/FT and Skills for work - Healthy Gourmet café certificate.

Service users who need support in shopping and planning meals for healthy eating can enjoy learning opportunities in Scotch Bonnet's Brixton- based training kitchen. And people who currently visit the Fanon Resource Centre can also participate in a series of entry level cooking courses to gain confidence and improve their living skills.

Scotch Bonnet has a fine reputation in African Carribean inspired buffet food (tel  020 77330186) while Home & Dry deliver a painting and decorating service to vulnerable people and partner organisations where an understanding of mental health support issues is crucial. In addition, Home & Dry complete small repairs and resolve building related health and safety issues where possible (this is a referral service accessed via Southwark and Lambeth Councils).
